Find Your Niche

How To Find Your Niche In Less Than 10 Minutes

Let's be honest for a moment… You and I both get that picking a topic is a must to start your online business.

But figuring out your perfect topic can feel really tough with all the choices and feelings involved.

It might seem like too much to handle. That is, until you learn this super quick trick for finding your topic I've had students who couldn't decide on their topic for years…

Then there are students who picked their topic in just 10 minutes and got right to work…

You may NOT have all the resources to do your niche now, but you are also committing yourself on a journey to also learn and develop in “that” niche you've picked.

Can you guess who's making money now?

The ones who made a choice and kept going! Today's the day you're going to get past this topic problem for good…

Avoid Niche Selection Over Analysis

Getting stuck on choosing your niche is often just fear in disguise. Not deciding is actually a decision in itself, aimed at avoiding failure.

But here's the thing: being afraid to start means you can't fail, but it also means you can't succeed.

Choosing to stay stuck is a choice.

Now, let's move on and dive into how to pick your niche!

Buy An Existing Niche

Did you know there's a whole business dedicated to creating and selling ready-to-go affiliate and dropshipping websites?

These people excel at doing the initial research and setup – that's their forte. I have actually purchased a niche (expired domain) before, and it was a proven niche, and I got on board.

There are many places to buy them and have them all setup for you to start

Option 1

Option 2

IMPORTANT: I strongly advise against using major website brokers like Flippa or Empire Flipper because they are not meant for beginners. They are places to sell successful business for millions, but they offer great insight on what niches are profiting.

There's a lot of low-quality sites being sold there at very high prices.

Plus, their niche research isn't current.

Your Own Niche Research

Choose a niche you have natural talent, interest or affinity for. This is the key to avoid burn out.

A good niche for others may not be for you. A good niche is something that you have at minimum a slight interest in but it's not your passion or purpose in life.

For instance…

If you've always carried a gun and come across a website about everyday carry knives…

That's enough of a connection.

If you're into archery and the outdoors and find a site about hunting boots…

That might be enough of a connection.

Having an interest doesn't define who you are.

But it does help you keep going, do the research, and create better content than your rivals because you understand the audience and the products at least a little.

One more thing.

In the big picture, for those who live and breathe their niche will exceed far more than people who are just testing out the water. This is especially true for content creators who makes organic content.

Building a business is hard work.

Think about this: Do you really like your day job? Are you passionate about what you do for money? If not…

An online business can still make you money in an area you're not passionate about, just like a regular job.

However, if none of the options I mentioned seem right because you want something tied to a ‘passion' or ‘hobby'…

You can do your own research to find a niche that you're interested in and that has good potential.

It'll take more than 5 minutes, but it could make building your site a lot more enjoyable in the long run.

That's what we'll get into next…

Targeted Niche Research

There is this guy on YouTube called Affiliate Marketing Dude. I loved his teaching when researching a niche. It's called the trigger word method.

It's basically keywords that lead to problem and solutions. Such as:

  • How to
  • can't
  • leak
  • broke
  • seal
  • remove
  • etc

Get the full trigger word list here

I use a tool called Ahref to find all these keywords and sort them by search volume and difficulty to find a niche that I might be able to do.

What Is A Niche and What's Not

The biggest problem when selecting a niche is picking something that's too board.

For example, people will say something like: “My niche is in finance” or “I'm in the finance niche”. Well that's not a niche, that's a entire market. A niche in the finance world would be: “How to fix a 450 credit score” or something like “how to invest your first $1000

Another example is people saying something like: “I'm in the pet niche”. Well that's not a niche, that's a market. A niche will be “how to stop my dogs from barking“, “how to train service dogs“. See how these are more specific.

Your Next Steps

Make a decision to go with one niche, and remember you don't have to love it, but you will grow and invest your time in it.

I want to be honest with you. There is a chance that you will hate your first niche, and I totally understand because that has happened to me because I was expecting lot without understanding the full context on what it takes.

But you end up with something that you love, and your life style kind align with your niche. Man, that's the best thing ever because you will make money doing what you love and time flies when you do it!

It doesn't matter what you choose, as long as you make a choice. Once you decide, you can start working on your blog, and that's where the real learning kicks in.

You'll gain more knowledge from actually building your blog than from any video tutorials.

The true aim of your first site is to develop the skills needed to become an expert in digital marketing.

It's time to move from being a consumer to becoming a creator.
